BGG.Con Spring 2026 - Day 4
Beyond the games that I ran as Storyteller, I played in probably about 10-12 games as well, most of them with Charles playing too. A few of those were blind-draw games of Trouble Brewing in the wee hours of the final day of the Con, when we were way too exhausted to still be running any games.
Sects & Violets - 13-player - good won.
The Vigor-killed Pit-Hag ended up transforming the Flowergirl into a good Vortox. That, while poisoning the distant Dreamer, 3 seats away. The good twin Town Crier died early from a Witch curse. But ultimately, this must have been a good win, because this is the last photo I took of this game.
Bad Moon Rising - 13-player - good won.
The Lunatic was buying it for a while, but the Demon, a first-time player, told the Lunatic his true role, and everything started to add up. The Gambler died to his own ability the night he checked the Assassin on the other side of the Tea Lady (I think he believed they were a Grandmother). Unusually, the Assassin killed the Godfather in this game, and the Zombuul killed the Devil’s Advocate. The Professor tried to resurrect the Zombuul and eventually caught on to why it didn’t work. I think evil could’ve won if they just stopped murdering each other.
Bad Moon Rising - 15-player - good won.
This was my last scheduled game of the Con, and it very well might have been the best one I STed. The Godfather killed himself after the Moonchild died to execution near the start of the game, making him look sus on the other side of the Tea Lady. The Moonchild (late) selected the Goon as his player, but it was daytime, so no drunking happened there. I made a small mistake by resurrecting the Moonchild with the Professor power (should only work on Townsfolk!), but I announced publicly that there was a ST mistake, and enough people caught on to what that had been. The Innkeeper also protected the Tinker & Grandmother the night they were both attacked by the Shabaloth. And the Grandmother died to her own ability several nights after the Grandchild was killed by the Demon, when she eventually sobered up. It did come down to the final 3, but good team had tons of useful information by then, because the Chambermaid survived the whole game. She got a 1 on every single night, because of the pairs she happened to choose, but it worked out. The Exorcist chose the Shabaloth on the very last night to prevent the killing, as well. There was a Shabaloth regurgitation of the Tinker, who promptly died again the next night.
