Riot On the Set!
Tonight I ran custom scripts with some relatively esoteric Demons. I need practice on these, and I still need way more practice on the Organ Grinder! With this Minion I usually forget to make people close their eyes on D1, and the player has almost always chosen to be sober, too. I’ve tried to come up with better ways to remind myself, but it seems to be a really tough problem to solve, because when I get through the first nom and to the first vote, I’m always just in my routine and forget that it’s supposed to be a hidden vote. And I still do this even if I’m looking right at the grim!
So I think maybe the next few times, I’ll just spoil the surprise and tell everyone when I open noms that it’ll be an eyes-closed voting day, because I think that’s more fair to the Organ Grinder than risking that I’ll mess up their ability again. The only thing it really affects is the first nomination being made without most players expecting it to be hidden, which is unlikely to change outcomes much.
Blood & Ballots - 15-player + 2 Travellers - good won.
Tonight we tried out a new custom script named “Blood & Ballots”. I believe this was my first time running this Demon, but I have forgotten doing it at some point in the past. With the time-pressure aspect of the way it ends, it’s kinda similar to both the Minion Boomdandy and the Fabled Fiddler, each of which I’ve run several times. The good team had pretty much figured out it was a Riot, even before we got to the end of D2, and a lot of them seemed to have a good idea of who the Minions were. When the Riot ended there were still 3-4 good players alive. Some unusual happenings this game: The Goblin got preached N1. The Witch got 0 curse kills. The Klutzed picked the Ravenkeeper to clear her.
The Mystery Machine - 13-player - good won.
On N2, the Al-Hadikhia’s kills were scuttled by the Lycanthrope. His kill on N3 was the Faux Pas, so this allowed the Demon to kill that night. And kill he did! The 1st and 2nd chose to live, and even though the 3rd chose to die, she was the Fool with her ability unused, so she died but still lived, triggering the Al-Had to kill them all. The Oracle chose to live at least a couple times after that, because she knew she was the Grandmother’s grandchild. The Demon killed his Poisoner, but got executed, triggering the Scarlet Woman, who revived the Poisoner. In the end, the town figured it out, but it was a fairly close game.
