Scooby-Doo 2: Electric Boogaloo
I made some changes to my Scooby-Doo themed script, The Mystery Machine, and I decided it’s now version 2.0. I’m much more confident now that it’s a decently coherent script, although this one seems to be noticeably more good-sided than my previous scripts. This version has no Outsider modification, since I replaced the Godfather and ditched the Sentinel, but it also has some pretty quiet Outsiders, and not every script needs Outsider mod, anyway.
A player did raise a question that stumped me for a while: What if the Engineer in a starting non-Legion game creates Legion, then regains their ability due to a Professor resurrection (or similarly: Bone Collector), and then the Engineer chooses to transform the Legion to another Demon? At first I was afraid this would badly break the script, but I later realized that the Engineer-Legion jinx is actually sufficient to prevent this. The jinx says that when a Legion is in play, the Engineer doesn’t have the transformation ability; instead their ability becomes “You start knowing that Legion is in play.” So the Engineer regaining their ability in the presence of Legion should be treated this way, too.
Yes, Your Imminence - 5-player - good won.
The Philosopher immediately chose to be the Snake Charmer, and the Minion (originally the Organ Grinder) claimed exactly the same - Philo into SC. The Engineer created a Vizier, but nobody heard about it because the real Organ Grinder had been executed by then, so the Alchemist OG now had full control of their ability. If I recall correctly, the Zombuul was executed next, then 2 nights later, he gave up and chose to kill himself.
The Mystery Machine - 12-player + 2 Travellers - good won.
The Pacifist didn’t have many opportunities to save this game, because she was poisoned for 2 nights, and then evil players were being executed. The evil Bone Collector used her ability to reactivate the Poisoner, who successfully poisoned the Mayor. His poison prevented a bounce that night when the Ojo attacked the Mayor. The Goon and Damsel, without much coordination between them, managed to confuse the evil team enough that nobody ended up guessing the Damsel correctly, even when the Demon was on the block.
The Mystery Machine - 12-player - evil won.
This was a quick game, because a Legion ended it on D1 by correctly guessing the Damsel. Since Legions always register as both a Demon and a Minion, there’s no ST discretion here - the Damsel has been correctly guessed by a Minion, so the game must end. I had originally intended this to be an Al-Hadikhia game; that Demon went into the bag. But on N1, the Engineer chose to transform the Demon to a Legion, so via jinx, the Minions transformed into Legions too, and I threw in a couple bonus ones as well. I guess I should’ve made 1 more, though.
The Mystery Machine - 8-player - good won.
So this is the first time I actually got to run an Al-Hadikhia game. Most of the good team had the grim figured out by the end. But we did get to see the cool interaction between Al-Had and Fool, where the Fool chose to die, but her own ability prevented the death, resulting in all 3 chosen players living, so they all 3 die, including the Fool. That same night, we almost got to see the jinx between Al-Had and Scarlet Woman, except that all 3 died, preventing the original Al-Had from coming back to life.
